This fabulous antique French dropper brooch was made during the Edwardian era, Circa 1910.
The beautiful brooch boasts three long chain link droppers with two more droppers dangling from each.
The piece is decorated with green Emeralds, creamy Pearls, and a mixture of Pink Tourmaline and pink Topaz stones which make up the Suffragette colours.
Suffragettes liked to be depicted as feminine, their jewellery popularly consisted of Violet, Green and White colours which were chosen to counter the stereotypes put forward by opponents that they were mannish or shrieking! Green is for Give, white is for Women and violet is for Votes!
The piece is all set in Silver and complete with French hallmarks on the pin and catch. A beautiful, unique French piece that is steeped in history.
